We reported last week that Bungie's alternate-reality game was pointing to the unveiling of its successor to Halo, a massive sci-fi shooter called Destiny, which IGN covered extensively this morning. It now appears that most of the ARG has been unlocked, bringing with it a bundle of wallpapers and some eerie and celestial music. There's also a mention of a "future reward".
See for yourself some of the full images below, and listen to what might be some of the first new music from the Destiny universe right here.
The site now reads: SIGNAL RECEIVED ALL PATTERNS ALIGN, ARRAY SUCCESSFUL.
The page closes with the following statement:
Discovery is the vanguard of knowledge. Your assistance will not go unnoticed. Records will be kept and bring future reward. Alert all those who made this possible.
The music definitely rings of Marty O'Donnell's aesthetic; mythic, foreboding, chanting monks. Yup, sounds like cinematic music from a Bungie game.
Additionally, it looks like another post popped up last night, entitled Something is falling towards you. Or are you falling towards it?
It's interesting to note that Bungie's Destiny ARG indices have been unlocked as well, showing just how massive a sleuthing job was required to align all of the correct data to unlock the puzzle. Poke through it and you'll see what I mean.
So what does this all mean? We have our theories, but what are yours? Let us know in the comments below, and for all of the wallpapers and images, head on over to Alpha Lupi Bungie.
