Super Smash Bros. Melee has been picked as the final game for the 2013 Evo Tournament. As announced earlier this month, seven games were locked in for the tournament, with a charity drive determining the title that would take up the final slot.
Tournament organizers announced today that $225,744 was raised for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the drive, with Smash Bros. pulling in $94,683 of the total. The second place game was Skullgirls with $78,760, followed by Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo with $39,567.
The inclusion of Smash makes the full Evo 2013 lineup include the following:
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2
- Mortal Kombat 9
- Street Fighter x Tekken
- King of Fighters XIII
- Persona 4 Arena
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
Evo 2013 will take place in Vegas from July 12-14.
